Completion of Houses in Strokestown

Completion of Houses in Strokestown
Roscommon County Council announces the completion of 10 homes at Park Gate, Elphin Street, Strokestown.
The houses were constructed on an ideally located vacant site situated in the core town centre of Strokestown.
The development was constructed on behalf of the Council by Galway-based building contractor, Loftus Construction Ltd. and designed by Sweeney Architects of Longford.
The development consists of a mix of 2 and 3 bedroom single and two storey houses together with access road, parking, footpaths, street lighting and public open spaces.
“I would like to congratulate the Housing Business Units of Roscommon County Council on the completion of this housing development. It is fantastic to see unused vacant sites in our town centres being developed which will benefit the local economy and also provide much needed homes. I would also like to wish the new tenants the very best of luck in their new homes”
“Roscommon County Council are very pleased to have delivered this excellent development at Parkgate. Ideally located in the centre of Strokestown this development will contribute toward the regeneration of the town and provide new homes that are walking distance from many essential services and amenities.
The previously long-term vacant derelict site constituted an eye sore in a very prominent location in the town, so it is very satisfying to see such a development coming to fruition.
This development forms part of many Housing projects that Roscommon County Council are delivering as part of the ‘Housing for All’ Action Plan. I wish to acknowledge the hard work of the Housing Business Unit and the Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage.
I wish the new tenants the very best of luck and happiness in their new homes.”
